Wellspring Ministries Cares
Background
Wellspring Ministries was formed in 2007 by five Lee’s Summit residents: a licensed psychologist, a psychiatrist, a local church minister, a mental health chaplain, and a mental health administrative professional. They came together around a shared passion for the mentally ill in the community who are not able to regularly access mental health care. They believe that the mission of Wellspring will be achieved through informal collaboration with churches, communtiy organizations, and caring individuals.

We come to our mission through faith's understanding of our purpose in the world as fellow strugglers. We are aware of need, we have discovered our shared passions for the need, and we have joined together to address the need. Even in our affluent suburb, there are many suffering persons. They are neighbors afflicted with any of the varieties of mental illness and they are those who are disenfranchised economically and socially, unable to find or pay for the help they need to be restored to health and wholeness.
