Join Our Circle of Hope

Wellspring now offers a program called Circle of Hope. It is made up of people who contribute money on a regular basis to help offset the cost of counseling. Below is a table showing just what your dollars provide for one person:

It doesn’t sound like I’m helping much. What exactly does my money do?

For many people the first counseling session is one of overcoming fear. It takes a great deal of courage to sit in a room with someone you just met and share the pains of life. The therapist is trained to help reduce the fear and stigma of counseling in the first session. As the anxiety decreases most people find the therapy room is the safe place and see that their therapist genuinely cares about their well-being. It is in this environment that people are able to open up and disclose some of their greatest pain and distress. The recognition that they are not alone and that they are not helpless begins to give them hope. By the second session most people have begun to feel relief from their pain and are forming a plan to change their circumstances. Through the therapy process clients feel empowered and by the third session are often feeling stronger and are participating more fully in the plan for healing and growth. Some people only need a few sessions for them to redirect their lives and feel empowered. Others may need more as each person and each situation presents unique challenges and circumstances.

We are in the business of helping one person at a time, but through just one life, many more are affected. Nationally, depression costs employers $44 billion dollars per year just in lost productivity! This affects each one of us in some way.

There are two things an auxiliary member does:

1. Be a representative of who we are and what we do. In other words, help spread the word when you are out and about
2. Be involved with a great team to help organize fundraising events

We are always looking for help researching various foundations on the internet. If you enjoy spending time on your computer, this is a wonderful way to volunteer.

Help the Executive Director with one – two hours per week of clerical support.
